Rules of Survival Legacy Weapon Damage & TTK for ROS Legacy

Understand classic Rules of Survival damage roles before Myth locks Legacy balance 鈥?AR, SMG, DMR, sniper.

Weapon Damage Guide

Damage numbers decide whether you win a fair peek or lose to a magazine that “should have killed.” Classic Rules of Survival taught players to feel time-to-kill (TTK) by category even when exact spreadsheets disagreed. Rules of Survival Legacy by Myth Games is still Under Development on PC (August 2026). The embedded video shows a Myth RoS Legacy weapon damage showcase鈥攁 development signal that damage UI/systems are being built, not a final public balance patch.

Original RoS shut down 2022-06-27 under NetEase. Myth’s Legacy revival is separate. The July 25 launch rumor passed without verified retail access.

How to think about TTK without spreadsheets

Ask four questions each fight:

  1. Range 鈥?SMG magic dies past mid street
  2. Armor state 鈥?broken vest changes every trade
  3. First-shot advantage 鈥?who landed the opener?
  4. Reload vulnerability 鈥?LMGs punish empty mags harder

Exact Legacy numbers will ship later. Category logic survives retunes.

Category damage roles

Assault rifles

The mid-range default. Controllable ARs (M4/ACR-class) win consistent sprays; harder-recoil ARs (AKM-class) hit harder per bullet if you can track. Attachments matter more than brand loyalty.

SMGs

Highest close-range lethality with hip-fire forgiveness. Perfect for Rust Bay sheds and Training Base barracks. Drop off hard in field circles.

DMRs

Tap-fire punishers for ridge peeks like Observatory. Lower forgiveness on miss; high reward on armor chips.

Bolt / heavy snipers

Spike damage for headshots and vehicle harassment. Ammo rarity and bolt timing are the tax. Do not run pure sniper without AR/SMG backup.

Shotguns

Room kings, field liabilities. Swap after compound clears at Masout Factory or Research Edifice.

LMGs

Magazine size creates suppression and multi-down potential; reloads and ADS handling are the cost鈥攂etter on squads.

Practical swap ladder (classic habit)

  1. Anything automatic beats fists
  2. SMG/shotgun wins first building
  3. AR becomes primary for rotate
  4. DMR/sniper added when scopes and ammo appear
  5. Drop vanity guns that steal med space

Loadout pages: Solo, Duo, Squad.

Armor and damage interaction

Helmet and vest tiers change whether a burst deletes or chips. Chasing kills into broken-armor enemies is correct; spraying full-armor squads across open fields without utility is not.

What the Myth damage showcase means

When creators show damage values or hit feedback, treat it as proof systems exist in a build, not final retail TTK, not permission to download random clients.

Public release still unverified after July rumors. Safe path: Download Hub. Never sideload “damage test” APKs鈥攈igh risk per APK scams.

Armor breakpoints and helmet math

Level-two vests turned many SMG melts into three-shot losses; level-three vests made Barrett body pressure relevant even when AWM headshots remained gold standard. When Myth publishes armor values, rebuild mental math from vest pickups鈥攏ot naked TTK spreadsheets. If Legacy restores helmets, confirm bolt headshot reliability in test range before ranked IGL strats center on AWM picks.

Training drills before launch

In any BR you own, call your TTK category before peeks (“SMG range” vs “AR range”).

Practice recoil on PC keybinds and Sensitivity.

Compare two guns in Weapon compare before locking ego loadouts.

Study drop gun chances on Drop locations.

Track balance notes via Discord when Myth publishes test builds.

Damage literacy is a habit. Numbers will update; bad swaps will still lose fights.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Are the damage numbers in the YouTube video final?

No. They reflect a Myth Games RoS Legacy development showcase. Expect balance changes before and after public tests.

What is the best damage weapon overall?

There is no universal winner. ARs dominate mid-range consistency; SMGs win CQB; snipers spike when scoped and positioned.

Does armor change TTK a lot?

Yes. Vest and helmet tiers can turn a lethal burst into a chip trade. Prioritize armor while looting.

Should I carry two snipers if damage is high?

No. High sniper damage does not fix close-range pushes. Keep a close-range backup.

How do I practice without Legacy live?

Drill range callouts and recoil in other BRs, study this category guide, and use Weapon compare for planning.

Where are full tier rankings?

See the Weapons tier list for S鈥揊 style rankings and Attachments for scopes/grips that change effective damage.
