Rules of Survival Legacy Classic ROS Drop Locations Tier List

Where to land for S-tier loot in classic Rules of Survival—prep for Legacy map rotations.

Drop Locations Tier List

Your first parachute pull decides whether you hold an ACR with 4x scope or scramble with a pistol. This drop locations tier list ranks classic Rules of Survival landing zones using loot density, contest rate, rotation safety, and squad scalability. Rules of Survival Legacy is Under Development at Myth Games for PC—not a NetEase product—and has not released yet. Original servers closed June 27, 2022. Myth Games may rename POIs or move crates, but classic ROS geography still trains map literacy for Ghillie Island and Fearless Fiord.

Use this page alongside the weapons and attachments tier lists. A perfect landing means nothing if you do not recognize which building spawns military crates versus suburban meds.

Tier ranking framework

TierDrop profile
SHigh military loot, multiple squad upgrades, worth contest risk
AStrong loot with manageable third-party risk
BDecent early gear; rotate quickly toward S-tier zones
CLow loot; survival or challenge runs only
FIsolated with poor spawns unless circle luck saves you

Player count matters. Ghillie Island hosted ~120 players; Fearless Fiord ~300. An S-tier drop on the small map can be suicide on the large map because more buses mean more parallel hot drops.

S-tier drop locations (Ghillie Island)

Training Base sat at the top of classic Ghillie Island loot charts. Multiple barracks, open courtyards for vehicle spawns, and consistent military crate paths produced M4A1, ACR, and occasional AWM spawns. Expect heavy contest—bring squad coordination and fast PC keybinds for looting while ADS.

Observatory combined high-ground vision with strong indoor crates. Winning Observatory let teams control rotations toward Bitter Lake and mid-map circles. The ridge also favored 8x scope sniper setups from the weapons list.

Rust Bay mixed dock loot with urban density. Classic ROS squads hot-dropped here for Thompson and Vector early fights, then upgraded from nearby military boxes. High risk, high clip potential.

A-tier drop locations

Bitter Lake offered balanced risk: enough compounds for AR loot without always drawing every bus. Teams could farm edges then push toward Training Base when circles favored center map.

Military compounds (mid-map clusters)—not always labeled on community maps—spawned attachment-rich loot. Pair with the dedicated loot spots guide for building-level callouts.

Major city grids on Fearless Fiord ranked A-tier for squads needing four rifles fast. Third-party density was higher than Ghillie suburbs but loot justified the fight when circles ended snowside.

B-tier and fringe drops

Small fishing villages, isolated cabins, and single-house ridges were B-tier: fine for solo players who wanted to avoid Training Base chaos, weak for squads needing four kits. Players landed B-tier to grab a car and rotate into A-tier zones before the first circle.

C-tier drops included remote beaches with only pistol-tier spawns unless a care package landed nearby. F-tier meant dropping into the ocean edge with no vehicle and a far walk—classic meme drops only.

Fearless Fiord-specific notes

The larger map rewarded spread drops early season. S-tier military zones still existed but travel time between Observatory-equivalent POIs was longer. DMR-friendly SVD and SKS tiers shined when teams held ridge lines between compounds.

Read the full Fearless Fiord map guide for scale comparison. Drop tiers here assume you understand ~300-player lobby pressure.

Drop strategy by squad size

Solo: A-tier suburbs or edge of S-tier zones—contest Training Base only with high mechanical confidence. Tune sensitivity for 1vMany tracking.

Duo: Split nearby roofs in Rust Bay or Bitter Lake; converge on best crate.

Squad: Full S-tier commit with designated fragger, looter, driver, and scout. Use vehicles from Rust Bay docks to escape third parties.

Future builds pages will map drop choice to loadout archetype—sniper anchors versus CQB rush teams.

Video reference: ranking classic ROS places

The embedded mid-article video walks through classic Rules of Survival locations visually—helpful if text POI names changed in your memory since 2022. Compare what you see to our maps hub writeups. If Legacy adjusts layouts, the video still teaches how to evaluate a new zone: count crate rooms, note escape routes, measure sight lines.

Legacy may change layouts—why this still helps

Myth Games has not published final Ghillie Island or Fearless Fiord blockouts. Crate spawn tables, zip lines, or new POIs could reshuffle tiers overnight. Classic drop logic remains a decision framework:

  1. Count likely enemies from bus path.
  2. Estimate loot ceiling (military vs residential).
  3. Plan first rotation before looting finishes.
  4. Match drop to squad weapon priorities.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What was the best drop in classic Rules of Survival?

Training Base on Ghillie Island was widely considered the strongest consistent military loot drop, though heavily contested. Observatory ranked similarly for high-ground plus crate density.

Should I hot drop Rust Bay as a new player?

Rust Bay was S-tier for loot but brutal for beginners. Practice gunfight fundamentals and keybinds before committing to high-contest classic zones.

Do drop tiers differ between Ghillie Island and Fearless Fiord?

Yes. The same POI archetype could be S-tier on the 120-player map but A-tier on the 300-player map due to travel time and extra squads dropping nearby.

Will Legacy use the same drop locations?

Unknown. Myth Games may redesign maps. Classic tiers help you evaluate new zones quickly when patch notes or dev streams reveal changes.

How does drop choice connect to weapon tiers?

Military zones feed AR and sniper tiers; urban zones favor SMGs like Thompson early. Land where your target loadout from the weapons list is most likely to spawn.

Where can I discuss post-launch drop meta?
