Rules of Survival Legacy Ghillie Island — Classic ROS Map

Ghillie Island was the default heart of classic Rules of Survival—tropical terrain, mixed urban and military POIs, and lobbies around 120 players. Rules of Survival Legacy is Under Development at Myth Games on PC; the original NetEase-operated servers shut down June 27, 2022. Myth Games is a separate studio, not NetEase, and Legacy has not released yet. This guide preserves navigation knowledge for the POIs players still search: Bitter Lake, Training Base, Observatory, and Rust Bay.

Map overview and match pacing

Ghillie Island’s compact size compressed the battle royale loop. Bus paths crossed the island quickly, so third parties arrived within seconds of a gunfight ending. Matches favored players who looted fast with efficient PC keybinds, recognized building silhouettes from the parachute, and knew when to disengage toward the circle.

Compared to Fearless Fiord (~300 players), Ghillie Island felt constant pressure. SMGs like the Thompson ranked higher early per the weapons tier list, while snipers still dominated open ridges near Observatory if you secured an 8x from attachments tiers.

Key POI: Training Base

Training Base was the most contested S-tier drop in classic ROS. Barracks rows, central parade grounds, and peripheral warehouses spawned military rifles—M4A1, ACR, AKM—and attachment-rich crates. Winning Training Base often meant controlling mid-map circles.

Rotation tips: loot the outer hangars first to avoid center courtyard crossfire; assign one squad member to watch the hill approach from Bitter Lake; grab a vehicle early if the circle pulls toward Rust Bay. Key POI: Observatory

Observatory sat on elevated terrain with strong sight lines across central Ghillie Island. Indoor loot included DMR and sniper spawns; outdoor ridges enabled AWM and Barrett teams to gate rotations.

Observatory linked naturally to Training Base pushes and Bitter Lake flanks. Hold the high ground but watch storm timing—classic circles loved pulling observatory teams downhill into awkward fights. Pair long-range holds with sensitivity tuning for 4x and 8x scopes.

Key POI: Bitter Lake

Bitter Lake mixed water features with suburban compounds and medium-density loot. It ranked A-tier for squads wanting AR upgrades without Training Base chaos. Bitter Lake also served as a rotation hub between military north and dock south.

Use Bitter Lake when learning Legacy mechanics: enough action to practice recoil, enough space to reset after mistakes. Cross-reference builds planning for balanced AR loadouts once Legacy meta forms.

Key POI: Rust Bay

Rust Bay combined dock infrastructure, warehouses, and tight urban alleys. Classic players hot-dropped here for fast CQB with Vector or Thompson, then upgraded from nearby military boxes. Rust Bay sat on many drop location tier lists as high risk, high reward.

Vehicle spawns near the docks enabled quick escapes toward Fearless Fiord-style long rotates—except on Ghillie, you often reached another POI before the first circle closed. Master vehicle exit binds from the controls hub before committing to dock fights.

Secondary zones and fringe drops

Smaller villages, farms, and isolated houses dotted Ghillie Island’s coastline. These B-tier zones fed solos and duos who avoided named POI contests. Classic strategy: land fringe, loot two buildings, drive or sprint toward military audio cues.

Circle behavior and endgame

Ghillie circles frequently closed through central mixed terrain—half urban, half open hill. Final zones punished teams without smokes or without mid-range AR stability. M4A1 and ACR remained S-tier choices from the weapons list because they handled both building peeks and outdoor tracking.

1. Memorize four POI names: Bitter Lake, Training Base, Observatory, Rust Bay.
2. Practice one hot drop and one safe drop route per POI.
3. Link each POI to expected weapon tiers and attachment priorities.
4. Join Discord for Myth Games map previews.
5. Avoid unofficial APK downloads—no verified Myth Games mobile build exists.
