Weapons Tier List

This weapons tier list reflects ROS Legacy live gameplay across all seven combat zones. Rankings consider time-to-kill (TTK), effective range, recoil control, attachment scaling, ammo availability, and loot rarity. Weapon effectiveness shifts between zones鈥擧ighlands favors long-range precision while Iron Town demands close-quarters firepower.

Ranking criteria

We score each weapon on time-to-kill (TTK), effective range, recoil control, attachment scaling, ammo availability, and loot rarity. A gun that dominates with a 4x scope may be mid-tier with iron sights only. Pair this list with the attachments tier list and drop locations so you know both what to pick up and where to find it.

S-tier weapons (current meta)

The ACR and M4A1 are the backbone of competitive play. Either gun with a compensator, vertical grip, and 4x scope wins mid-game fights across all zones. AWM and Barrett occupy S-tier conditionally鈥攐nly when you secure magnum or .50 BMG ammo from high-tier loot areas.

A-tier weapons

QBZ-95 often spawns in urban clusters while AKM appears near high-tier military zones. On Crash Site and The Slums, the Vector dominates interior fights. On Highlands, the SVD and SKS gain value because long-range engagement is common.

B-tier weapons

The Thompson deserves special mention. Players landing at contested POIs like Crash Site love its hip-fire dominance. Treat it as a transition weapon: clear the first squad, then swap for M4A1 or ACR before rotating.

C-tier and F-tier

C-tier includes pistols except the occasional headshot meme, shotguns outside point-blank room clears, and the crossbow. F-tier covers weapons you drop immediately鈥攄amaged melee-only situations aside鈥攕uch as the VSS when ammo is absent, or any gun without compatible attachments when you already carry a loaded A-tier primary.

Do not ego-keep a Barrett without .50 BMG. That inventory slot belongs to meds or a secondary SMG for close-quarters backup.

Weapon choice by combat zone

Crash Site / Iron Town (CQB zones): Thompson, Vector, or any automatic wins. SMGs dominate interior debris and factory lanes.

The Slums / Dust Quarter (urban zones): ACR, M4A1, or AKM with red dot or 2x scope. Rooftop-to-rooftop fights favor controllable recoil.

Frostfall / Highlands (open terrain): Upgrade to M4A1, ACR, or AKM with 4x. Attachments matter more than marginal gun differences here. AWM and Barrett shine on elevated positions.

Oasis (central objective): Balanced AR builds excel. DMRs control waterline from distance. Smoke and positioning matter as much as raw firepower.

Legacy PC aim and weapon tiers

Mouse precision favors DMRs and single-tap rifles like SKS and SVD. Recoil-heavy guns may feel different on PC versus mobile. Practice recoil control on the weapon compare tool before matches.

FAQ

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Schnelle Antworten auf die häufigsten Fragen.

Is the ACR still the best gun in ROS Legacy?

The ACR remains top-tier due to its controllable recoil and attachment flexibility. However, weapon effectiveness varies by combat zone 鈥?Highlands favors snipers while Iron Town demands SMGs.

AWM vs Barrett鈥攚hich sniper ranks higher?

AWM ranks higher for most players due to faster cycle rate and one-shot headshot reliability. Barrett excels for body-shot pressure and vehicle damage when .50 BMG is stocked.

Should I keep a Thompson after finding an AR?

Usually no. Thompson is B-tier past early game. Swap to M4A1, ACR, or AKM unless you run a dedicated CQB build with no mid-range option.

Does QBZ-95 count as meta?

QBZ-95 is solid A-tier 鈥?not S-tier like ACR, but better than most SMGs at range. Strong pick when it is the best AR available in your loot pool.

Which weapon tier changes should I watch for?

Myth Games may balance weapons after launch. Patch notes will adjust TTK and recoil. Re-test loadouts after major updates and check Discord for community feedback.

Where do I practice weapons before matches?

Use the training mode or firing range if available. Otherwise, study drop locations and loot routes to gear up faster in real matches.
